Hostel mess billing in Indian educational institutions has been stuck in the analog era — paper registers, Excel files, and WhatsApp reminders. We're building a purpose-built platform that automates billing, digitizes payments, and gives administrators real-time visibility into their operations. Our goal is to make every hostel in India run as smoothly as a modern SaaS product — transparent, efficient, and paperless.
Resido was born out of first-hand frustration. As a medical student at Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), founder Dr. Lohith M S watched mess secretaries struggle with manual billing — chasing students for payments, maintaining paper registers, and using Excel sheets that broke every semester.
What began as a simple payment link evolved into a full platform: an admin dashboard for wardens and mess secretaries, a student-facing web app, a native Android app, automated billing with configurable rules, integrated UPI/card payments via a certified banking gateway, complaint management, and real-time analytics — all built on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure.
